About the role

HealthShare has developed the leading directory in Australia for patients and GPs to find specialist doctors. The directory is available direct to patients at and available to GPs via integrations into their GP practice management systems (Best Practice and Medical Director). While the directory is free to patients and GPs, HealthShare has developed a commercial offering (HealthShare Premium) that provides subscribing specialists with the ability to boost their digital and market presence, including by enhancing their profile in the directory via a premium / priority listing.

The HealthShare Premium offering is sold to specialists via our Specialist Solutions team which includes business development and account management executives.

The primary purpose of the role is to manage the Specialist Solutions team, to acquire new subscribing specialists and to foster long-term business relationships with existing specialist subscribers.


Sales and Account Management:

  • Achievement of sales targets and KPIs.
  • Manage lead generation, marketing, collateral and sales effectiveness (working with other parts of the HealthShare team, including marketing).
  • Regularly meet with clients to report success, explain product developments, position new features and offerings and facilitate growth and / or renewal of the HealthShare Premium service.
  • Coordinate with marketing and data teams to deliver monthly analytics reports, market and thought leadership content to customers.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date sales revenue forecasts to management and finance.

Business and Strategy Development:

  • Develop strategic plans for profitable new business acquisition across new and existing client accounts.
  • Management of client and internal resources to support new business closure, solution delivery and ongoing client operational success.
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant market dynamics and competitor activity, developing management strategies to differentiate HealthShare’s offering from competitors and achieve sales targets.
  • Attend relevant industry events, conferences and meetings to support HealthShare’s business objectives.
  • Provide client, competitor and market intelligence and insights to inform management and business decisions (e.g. strategy, product development).

Leadership and People Management:

  • Establish and model high standards of performance and professional conduct and encourage / empower team members to emulate them.
  • Act as a mentor and guide to team members.
  • Proactively manage performance in conjunction with Manager and People & Culture.
  • Ensure team members work productively and develop professionally.
  • Oversee recruitment and training of new employees.

Skills and attributes

To succeed in this role, you should be a perceptive and commercially-driven leader, have excellent communication skills and be a reliable problem-solver.

You must be able to demonstrate the following:


  • Tertiary level qualifications (Bachelor Degree) in a related health or commercial discipline.


  • 5+ years’ leadership experience in a similar sales-oriented role.
  • 3+ years' previous experience in the healthcare / tech industry (ideally).


  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate a sales team, to achieve high standards and accomplish set outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the needs of customers and address stakeholder concerns.
  • An outcomes-focused and results-oriented mindset.
  • Collaborative nature dealing with multiple internal teams.
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Commercial P&L experience (desirable).
